All the time. But then someone once told me that if you are feeling too comfortable and good about what youre doing in the congregation then youre not doing enough - its good to feel anxious, that's what keeps you motivated. ha!

The burdensome load of a Jehovah's Witness - did you feel this way?
by jambon1 infor me, my life as a jehovah's witness was tiring, depressing & miserable.
surrounded by negativity i felt utterly supressed & unhappy.
to carry out my 'responsibilties' became very difficult.

Elders....what sort of training do they get...how are they selected
by insearchoftruth inmy wife who is studying with a jw, whenever i ask her a question she will respond, i don't know, i am still learning, you need to ask the elders about that..... she raises these gentlemen up on a pedestal....are there any special qualifications, what sort of training do they recieve, any background checks required??

very very scary when people would rather have a counseling session with an elder than a licensed and qualified therapist.

Going out is service on Thanksgiving
by I quit! ini only remember doing it once.
i remember going to pick another witness up and his kids were watching an old alice in wonderland movie.
i wished i could stay and watch it rather than go out bothering people.

I knew no one wanted us at their door, especially on those days, and I felt terrible for bothering them.
How can you be bothering them when you have a life-saving message?!

by The Missus indo the gb go out in field circus?
if yes, is it the way all the r&f go (knocking on doors) or do they have more important things to do?

did your wife run off and get pregnant?
by oompa inor is it just me?...ya...it was wicked hard to deal with and i will never be the same...we had two cute kids at the time, very young, and she was out knocking on doors with a 35 hour a month average....i was never spiritual enough and hated service....and felt there were too many meetings......she truly just disappeared one day...no note...i found her thousands of miles away, not even in the us....ya how is that for weird?.....can anybody top that?....i lost 20 pounds the first month and was already skinny.....i still care for her greatly, and know she was truly mentally ill at the time......cause you would have to be crazy to leave a guy like me!!!
!.....lol.....that line has gotten me through a lot of tough times....she really was ill and on tons of meds.......oompa....this one should be on oprah.
again.....can anybody top that?....step up to the plate....i could not find anyone to help me with that, as nobody had had that happen to them.

When I was in 3rd grade my mom found a Culture Club record hidden under my dresser. She showed my dad and they made be break it and throw it into the garbage. Kinda funny now when I think about it. CC is about as tame as you can get. I think it was the picture of Boy George on the cover that freaked them out.

Aug 15th WT - Pg7 par3 - it's right there in plain sight
by passwordprotected inparagraph 3 of this typically un-self-effacing article is incredible for 2 reasons, 2 reasons jws are unlikely to be awake to and will more than likely be blind to.. .
first of all the wts very grandly state that "jehovah and "the faithful and discreet slave" deeply appreciate all their past and present contributions to the kingdom work.".
firstly, the wts have put their organisation in the self-assigned role as the "faithful and discreet slave", which we'll come to in a second.

This also goes to prove that as a JW, you are following a group of men instead of God. If you had received an organ transplant back in the day when it was taboo, you would have been df'd. But when they decided it was now OK to get transplants, you think that you would be reinstated, right? WRONG! You are still df'd because you were not obedient to the organization of men regardless if they were wrong or right.
